Congratulations to the class of 2011 ! |
|
We are delighted that this year’s leavers have done both themselves and the school proud in terms recording our best ever GCSE Exam results.
Whilst provisional at this stage we can report that :
65% of the year group obtained 5 or more A* - C grades including English & Maths
76% of the year group achieved 5 or more A* - C grades
A huge thanks also to all staff who helped make this impressive achievement possible.

Commonweal becomes an Academy! |
|
Dear Parents & Carers,
We are pleased to announce that the Department of Education have today confirmed that Commonweal has become an Academy!Â
This means that as of the 1st August 2011 we have increased flexibility to ensure that we can continue to deliver an outstanding service for our students. Although we will aim for little outward change we are confident that this will allow us to move forward, especially in forging new links with Lethbridge as our partner primary school. We will also be in a strong position to respond to any future initiatives in the ever-changing world of education.

Ofsted Report - Outstanding! |
|
Dear All,
I am delighted to be able at last to share with you our recent Ofsted inspection report. We were adjudged to be outstanding in 16 out of 22 categories and thus outstanding in overall terms. I’m sure you will share our pride and pleasure in having secured this judgement which reflects the hard work, talent and commitment of all concerned. There is clearly still much to do next year but we can sign off the academic year with considerable satisfaction; as the Swindon Advertiser aptly described it : ‘an outstanding end to the year’ !

From February 2011 we have started to use ParentMail to communicate with Parents/Carers using email and text messaging.
This service is currently used by more than 4,300 schools across the country, and we are confident that it will help us to improve our speed and quality of communication with parents. We plan to use this as the main way in which we will send out letters, information about events and newsletters, so we would like to get as many parents signed up as possible.
If you haven’t registered for the service yet and would like to do so then please download and complete the form below and return it to the Headteacher’s PA at the school.
